Serena sets up another all-Williams final

Serena Williams set up another Grand Slam final with her sister Venus at Wimbledon and secured her place at the summit of women's tennis.

The younger of the American siblings swept aside the challenge of France's Amelie Mauresmo 6-2 6-1 in the second women's semi-final.

The victory set up a Saturday lunch date with her big sister after Venus' similarly simple two-set victory over Justine Henin in the other semi.

Serena's victory also ensured she will occupy the top spot for the first time in the new WTA world rankings.

She was in devastating form as she took the first set in just 23 minutes.

The second seed simply smashed her powerful opponent off the court behind a strong serve and a series of devastating forehand passing shots.

Mauresmo held her serve to love in the opening game but from then on it was one-way traffic.

Williams broke in the fifth and seventh games and lost just three points on her own serve in the entire first set.

Williams continued her assault into the second set as she broke the Mauresmo serve immediately.

But she suffered an uncharacteristic blip in the following game and needed to save four break points before holding onto her own serve for a 2-0 lead.

Williams continued to play virtually faultless tennis with Mauresmo caught in two minds about whether to come into the net.

When she took advantage of her eighth break point in the fifth game to go a double break up it was all over, and she closed out the match in style.
