Tennis: Davenport wins Porsche Grand Prix

Lindsay Davenport captured her fifth title of the year when she beat Justine Henin 7-5, 6-4 in the final of the Porsche Grand Prix.

Davenport simply had too much power and stamina for Henin.

Three forehand errors by Henin helped Davenport to gain the first break of serve for a 4-3 lead in the first set.

But in the 10th game, serving for the set, Davenport hit two double-faults and then sent a backhand long to allow Henin to level.

Davenport hit some devastating backhands, though, to break back and go 6-5 ahead before closing out the set.

Henin saved two break points at the start of the second, one with an ace, but Davenport used a forehand passing shot to go up 1-0.

A rare backhand error gave Davenport her first match point at 5-3 but Henin saved it with a forehand winner.

She produced a double-fault for another Davenport match point and saved it with a backhand winner down the line. She then saved a third match point before holding serve.

Two straight service winners gave Davenport two more match points and she then wrapped up the match in an hour-and-a-half.
