Greg Rusedski and Tim Henman face a potential Battle of the Britons in the fourth round of the US Open.

Greg Rusedski and Tim Henman face a potential Battle of the Britons in the fourth round of the US Open.

The pair, who have never met in a Grand Slam, were pitched together in the same section of the draw for the tournament which starts on Monday.

In the first round Rusedski, runner-up at Flushing Meadows in 1997, has been drawn against Morocco’s Younes El Aynaoui.

The 30th-seeded Briton should overcome his opponent who has only once progressed past the first round of the tournament.

Number nine seed Henman, who leads 3-2 in clashes with Rusedski, will play a qualifier in his first-round tie.

If the two are to face each other, they both have to overcome French opponents in the third round.

Rusedski is lined up to face Sebastien Grosjean while Henman could square up to Fabrice Santoro.
