Jennifer Capriati produced her best form of the championships so far in her fourth round match with France’s Sandrine Testud.

Capriati, seeking to add the Wimbledon crown to her Australian and French Open titles, had failed to hit top gear in the opening week despite not having dropped a set.

But the American certainly stepped up a gear this afternoon as she breezed through the first set against the 15th seed on Court One.

Having held her serve in the opening game Capriati immediately broke her opponent to race into a 3-0 lead and Testud had to save another break point to finally get on the scoreboard at 3-1.

Testud gamely tried to match the fourth seed from the baseline but Capriati simply had too much power and accuracy and took the next three games to wrap up the set 6-1.
