Tennis: Sampras hopes for third time lucky
Pete Sampras will return to Queen's Club today to try and book his place in the quarter-finals of the Stella Artois Championships - at the third attempt.
Sampras and third round opponent Jan Siemerink managed just three games in two separate spells between the rain on Thursday evening before play was abandoned for the day.
The remaining third round match between Byron Black and Lleyton Hewitt will also be played today, weather permitting. That match did not even get underway.
The winner of that game will face Greg Rusedski in the last eight after the British number two cruised into the quarter-finals with a straight sets victory over Vladimir Voltchkov.
Tim Henman today meets unseeded Thanakorn Srichaphan at 1pm on centre court.
The British number one tasted victory on Thursday, over Australian Wayne Arthurs in three tough sets.
He will face either South African Wayne Ferreira or Holland's Peter Wessels in the semi-finals if he gets past Srichaphan, Wessels producing the best result of the tournament in recovering from a set down to beat top seed and US Open champion Marat Safin 4-6 6-4 7-6.
