Rusedski cruises into second round

Greg Rusedski safely came through the first round of the Milan indoor tournament on Monday night.

The British number two beat Italian number one Gianluca Pozzi 6-1 7-5.

He will now face either Switzerland's Marc Rosset or Croatian Ivan Ljubicic.

The first set was proved plain sailing for Canadian-born Rusedski but he had to work harder in the second before making the decisive break in the 11th game.
