Jezierski’s green dreams

Far from the madding crowds of London, Andrzej Jezierski takes to the peaceful waters of Eton Dorney this morning in the sprint canoe competition.

Jezierski, a Polish national, committed to Ireland after securing a passport earlier this year and though he retired seven years ago, he’s back competing in his favourite event, the 200m sprint.

He is a member of the Lee Valley Rowing Club in Cork and will be in action at 9.51am.

Meanwhile, the Irish 4x400 women’s relay team take to the track tonight for their opening heat (7.21pm). The quartet have been drawn against USA, Russia and Team GB.
