Aussie rower sent home in disgrace

An Australian rower has been sent home from the Olympics after damaging two storefront windows outside London.

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) says Josh Booth, a member of the men’s eight that finished last in Wednesday’s final, had apologised to two shop owners and would pay €1,758 to repair windows broken in the incident. He will not be charged by police. AOC spokesman Mike Tancred says 21-year-old Booth, who completed his rowing events, returns to Australia today.
