Battling Kuznetsova has final say

EIGHTH seed Svetlana Kuznetsova claimed she had taken advantage of tactical naivety on Nicole Vaidisova’s part as she set up a meeting with Justine Henin-Hardenne in tomorrow’s French Open final.

The Russian had been a set and 5-4 down, facing the Vaidisova serve, but managed to turn the match around and won through 5-7 7-6 (7/5) 6-2 after two hours and 31 minutes of an intriguing contest against the 17-year-old Czech.

“My experience helped me a lot,” added Kuznetsova.
