Roberts and Martin take sailing lead

Adam Roberts and Nicholas Martin from the United States moved into the overall lead of the Liffey Developments 420 Junior Europeans at Dun Laoghaire yesterday when the pair added a second place to their 12th overall for the qualifier series.

Yesterday’s winning crew was Emanuelle Rol and Anne Sophie Thilo from Switzerland. Joanne MacDonald and Laurie Marsden from Britain scored a tenth place but with a seventh overall from the pre-qualifiers lie fourth overall.

Qualification series winners George Vassilas with Evangelos Mitakiz slipped to 15th overall after a 33rd place. Two Irish crews qualified for the Gold fleet with Simon Mitton and Cillian Magee best in 25th place overall while Kenneth Rumball and David Moran were 36th overall.
