British aces out

BRITISH interest in the Monte Carlo Masters was ended in the first round yesterday as Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski were knocked out on their first clay-court appearances of the season.

Henman took his match to three sets before losing 6-4 4-6 6-2 to Mariano Zabaleta, but Rusedski’s meeting with Roger Federer was a one-sided contest with the Swiss winning 6-3 6-1.
