Harrison ready for Skelton

Audley Harrison is ready to fight British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Matt Skelton, “if the money is right”.

Harrison revealed he has already opened talks with Frank Warren, Skelton’s promoter, about the hottest heavyweight clash in British boxing.

“It’s all about money, as it always is. If Frank wants to do it then it is going to cost,” said Harrison after retaining his WBF title with a landslide points victory over veteran Julius Francis at Bristol’s Whitchurch Sports Centre on Saturday.

Boxing politics are against Harrison v Skelton happening with the self-promoted Olympic gold medallist boxing on the BBC while Sky screens Warren’s shows.

But Harrison said: “We are looking to do some sort of collaboration with Warren. I was speaking to some of my American partners and they said at the end of the day Oscar De La Hoya uses Bob Arum and Roy Jones works with Don King so why not?”
