Boxers lose

Irish boxers Kenneth Egan and Andrew Murray lost their Olympic qualifying bouts at the final qualifying event in Azerbaijan yesterday.

Egan lost 27-21 on points to a Swedish opponent. Earlier lightweight Andrew Murray was beaten by a Russian.

The results mean that Limerick middleweight Andy Lee will be the sole Irish boxer competing at the Olympic games in Athens this summer.
