Henman advances in Cincinnati

Tim Henman won his first match since Wimbledon with a 6-2 6-1 dismissal of Olympic champion Nicolas Massu in the Cincinnati Masters.

The British number one set up break points almost at will and frustrated his opponent into submission.

Having suffered first-round defeats in his two matches since Wimbledon, Henman began tentatively and was forced to save a break point in the third game. But in the next game he set up a break point of his own and converted at the first time of asking when Massu netted feebly.

Growing in confidence, the Briton unleashed his full repertoire of shots to finish out the match in style.
