Nugent progresses at Futures Tennis Tournament

Karen Nugent, the number six seed at this week’s $10,000 Futures Tennis Tournament in Felixstowe, won through to today’s second round but was made to fight for survival by Russia’s Ekaterina Makarova.

Nugent was a set and 1-4 down.

But she came back to force a second set tie-break which she ultimately won 9-7, before taking the match 3-6 7-6 6-3.
