Tennis Ireland in sponsorship boost

Tennis Ireland yesterday received a boost with the announcement that Danone will sponsor a new junior masters series.

The event could not have come at a better time for top prospects such as Niall Murphy (Tramore), Harry Heybourn (Belfast), Laura Milner (Castleknock), Justin Flynn (Wicklow) and Paul Fitzgerald (Sundays Well).

These players, along with Sinead Kennedy (Railway Union), Amy Bowtell (Greystones) and Charlotte Headon (Clontarf), have topped their respective leaderboards in recent weeks.

The series of six match play events culminates in the masters finals at U18, 16, 14 and 12 level on the May bank holiday weekend.
