Cork boost in Cruiser Racing National Championships

Cork boats were to the fore at the first Irish Cruiser Racing National Championships which finished at Howth Yacht Club yesterday with 100 entries in four divisions.

Anthony O’Leary’s Antix from Royal Cork YC beat clubmate Barry Rose’s Obsession V and 20 other boats to take the Division 1 national title with an impressive four wins in the seven race series.

In Division 2, Tom Brennan’s Respect from Kinsale took the overall honours ahead of several Howth boats in the single biggest fleet of 37 boats while in Division 3, Tom Kirby’s Yami-Yami from Schull finished third overall.
