Millar out of Tour de France

British world time trial champion David Millar will be dropped from the Tour de France when team Cofidis name their squad for the sport’s biggest race.

Millar out of Tour de France

His French employers have decided to omit their most senior rider after the Scot was detained for questioning for 48 hours by French police earlier this week as part of an investigation into doping offences. Millar has not been charged but Cofidis are keen to avoid falling foul of new Tour regulations which prohibit any riders who are involved in drugs inquiries and have also dropped his teammate Cedric Vasseur.
