Niland wins in Dublin

Cork’s Conor Niland is having a good run in the David Lloyd Irish Open Indoor Tennis Championships at the Riverview Club in Dublin.

Following his victory over Robert Cherry to reach the last eight, the Irish Davis Cup player is on course for a semi-final showdown with top seed Matthew Smith of Liverpool.

In the women’s singles, former Fed Cup player Yvonne Doyle cruised through to the quarter-finals with a 6-1 6-0 win over Laura Milner.
