Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm reject PGA Tour olive branch and commit to LIV
Jon Rahm on possible return to PGA Tour: "Iâm not planning on going anywhere."
Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Cam Smith have all committed themselves to LIV Golf after the PGA Tour offered them a way back from the Saudi breakaway league.
On Monday the tour announced five-time major winner Brooks Koepka, who quit LIV last month with a year remaining on his contract, had rejoined â subject to a number of penalties and restrictions â and also opened the door for the three big names to follow.
A newly-written Returning Member Programme was specifically designed to entice them back, applying only to players who had won any of the four majors or the Players Championship between 2022 and 2025.
Following Koepkaâs return the criteria only applied to DeChambeau, Rahm and Smith and they were given a deadline of February 2 to apply for reinstatement but all three have insisted they are staying with LIV.
âI had no idea, no idea that that would happen,â said DeChambeau, who had earlier put a cheeky post on Instagram of him shrugging his shoulders standing next to an âexitâ sign asking the question âWhat would you do?â.
âNo idea what the penalties would even be. Right now, Iâve got a contract. Iâm looking forward to seeing what we can do at LIV Golf this year.âÂ
Rahm, speaking at a LIV Golf media event in Florida, said: âIâm not planning on going anywhere, so very similar answer to what Bryson gave.
âI wish Brooks the best and as far as Iâm concerned, Iâm focused on LIV for this year and hoping my team can repeat as champs.âÂ
Australian Smith, the lowest-profile of the three, said he would be staying with LIV for âyears to come.âÂ
âI made a decision to come out here and spend more time at home and Iâm not giving that away. I will be on LIV for the years to come,â said the former Open champion.
