Rory McIlroy will bid to compound the misery of Team USA and Scottie Scheffler when he takes on the world No.1 in a heavyweight clash of Sunday's singles at Bethpage Black.

With Luke Donald's irrepressible European side needing just three points from the dozen on offer to clinch a first road win in 13 years, McIlroy will be in the fourth match out against Scheffler who remained pointless and looking totally lost after two more defeats on a Saturday where the visitors rammed home their supremacy.
