PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan fielded questions on Wednesday from the media in one of his two regularly scheduled annual state-of-the-tour addresses. He said a lot of words – a LOT of words – without saying much of anything at all.

On the state of the long-going negotiations with the Public Investment Fund on reunifying the game, Monahan trotted out words and phrases like “we’re in regular dialogue” and “productive.” When asked directly about potential pathways back to the PGA Tour for LIV golfers, the commish’s nonsense unrelated response were a clear attempt to deflect and obfuscate the issue.
