It would be the first face-to-face meeting between tour players and the Saudis, coming less than a week after PGA Tour commissioner said the negotiations between the two sides is “accelerating”.

The Monday after the Players could prove to be the most significant day of the year for the professional game.

The six players on the PGA Tour’s policy board – Tiger Woods, Patrick Cantlay, Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott, Webb Simpson and Peter Malnati – will meet at an undisclosed location on Monday with Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the chief of the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. Cantlay confirmed that a meeting will take place.
