McIlroy dazzles to take lead after day one at Players

There was never a dull moment on Thursday for arguably the world’s most riveting player.

With 10 birdies, two water balls and one contentious debate over a ruling, Rory McIlroy shot a 7-under 65 to share the early lead with Xander Schauffele at the 50th Players Championship.
