McIlroy and Lowry start strong at Cognizant Classic

Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry have both shot four-under-par round of 67 to make a strong start at the Cognizant Classic on the PGA Tour to sit three shots behind clubhouse leader Chad Ramey.

The Irish duo took advantage of the calm conditions at Palm Beaches. Pre-tournament favourite McIlroy began the 10th hole with a birdie on the par 5 before holing a 24-foot putt for birdie on the par three 17th/ He had two more birdies on par fives on the 18th and third before hitting 173 years on the sixth to three feet for his fifth birdie of the day.
