Shane Lowry's Dubai Duty Free Irish Open bid was compromised by a stomach problem on Friday, but the Clara man battled through to limit the damage to his round and keep his ambitions alive heading into the weekend.

Well-placed after an opening four-under round of 66, Lowry had been contending with a bad cough that was disturbing his sleep through the week but his health issues took a turn for the worse early on Friday.
