Watson hit the headlines last week after speaking openly about his anxieties in an interview.

Bubba Watson rates himself 80% fit ahead of his bid to win a third Masters title in the space of five years at Augusta National.

Watson was laid low with a sinus infection and unable to practice at all on Monday, but had recovered sufficiently to play 18 holes on Tuesday morning.

"In roughly a 30-something-hour period, I was two hours off my bed," the big-hitting left-hander told reporters. "For me to get to this point, I'm already ahead of the game.

"This is always the best week on tour for us. This place energises you quite nicely and I'd say I'm at 80 per cent right now."

Watson won his ninth PGA Tour title earlier this season in the Northern Trust Open, but also hit the headlines last week after speaking openly about his anxieties in an interview for the CBS show '60 minutes'.

"I have a lot of mental issues," Watson said on the programme. "I just am so fearful of things, which I shouldn't be, right? Scared of heights. Scared of buildings falling on me. Scared of the dark. Scared of crowds. Those are my biggest issues."

The 37-year-old said on Tuesday "it was good to show the issues that I have", adding: "I don't want anybody to know my deepest, darkest secrets. (But) I'm not going to hide anything. My dad told me to always tell the truth. I've got nothing to hide from anybody. My dark secrets aren't that dark."
