Ireland’s Paul Dunne improved by two strokes to sign for a one-under 69 on the second day of the US Amateur Championship in Illinois.

The 22-year-old from Greystones, who held a share of the lead after three rounds of last month’s Open Championship, was in a share of 16th place and seven strokes behind clubhouse leader Brett Coletta after mixing three birdies with two bogeys on Tuesday.
