Faldo told the Mirror: “You can live your life how you want to. But the problem is if you injure yourself can they repair it exactly the same as it was?

“That is why I never skied because I saw a guy put his thumb around the other side of his forearm.

“That is the problem and it is a tough one for Rory. He has to wait until it is 100% before he can start doing anything and start practicing on it. That takes discipline.”

“It is a great shame as the man was more than likely to contend. I am sure he is very inspired by what Jordan Speith is doing right now. “

Speith is chasing his third consecutative major of the year and was a brilliant winner of the John Deere Classic over the weekend.
