McIlroy patchy while Harrington stays close to leaders

Three birdies and one bogey in 15 holes keeps Padraig Harrington within three shots of the lead so far and well placed for the weekend.

Overnight leader Mikko Ilonen briefly reclaimed the top spot, but is currently at eight-under. This keeps him level Graeme McDowell and Robert Rock who are both in the clubhouse.

Meanwhile Rory McIlroy is having another frustrating day. The two-time major winner has had an eagle on the 10th and four birdies.

However, bogeys on the 8th, 9th and 12th and a double bogey on the 4th leave him just one-under for the day so far. At two-over for the tournament, with just four holes to play, it is difficult to see him making the cut.

Shane Lowry is also not hopeful of making the cut finishing his round at one-over-par. At two-over Damien McGrane and Cian McNamara are also out of contention.

However, Darren Clarke is three-under for the day so far and is looking safe at two-under overall with just four holes to play.
