Garcia withdraws from Wentworth with knee injury

Sergio Garcia’s unhappy association with Wentworth continued on Thursday as a knee injury forced him to withdraw from the BMW PGA Championship.

Garcia completed an opening one-over-par 73 before play was disrupted by bad weather, but then pulled out of the European Tour’s flagship event, which he was contesting for just the fourth time in 16 years.
