Padraig Harrington says he will “play hard” to make sure he returns to Europe’s Ryder Cup side at Gleneagles in 2014.

Ireland’s three-major winner failed to receive a wild card from Jose Maria Olazabal on Monday and so will not be part of the match for the first time since 1997.
