Fisher leads at Celtic Manor

England's Ross Fisher has given himself the chance to re-ignite his career back at the scene of his 2010 Ryder Cup debut.

A second-round 66 today took Fisher into an two-stroke lead in the ISPS Handa Wales Open at Celtic Manor.

"Hopefully it's the start of a big summer for me," said the 31-year-old, who since helping Europe to victory has slumped from 27th in the world to 157th.

He has not had a top-five finish for almost 18 months, but after resuming with a bogey six he picked up six birdies.

While Fisher moved to six-under-par at the halfway mark, overnight leader Lee Slattery bogeyed the short third and 422-yard sixth to drop back to two-under.
