Andrew Parr was the clubhouse leader on nine under following an impressive third round at the Sicilian Open.

Canadian Parr climbed the leaderboard with a flawless five-under 67 round, including back-to-back birdies on the seventh and eighth holes.

However, he was two shots behind overall leader Pelle Edberg, who picked up three shots in his opening five holes to move to 11 under.

The Swede had been one of six players tied for the lead overnight, along with David Lynn, Jamie Donaldson Maarten Lafeber, Simon Wakefield and Peter Lawrie.

Lynn and Wakefield had failed to move their scores on after five and six holes respectively, and sat in a group of seven players tied for third on eight under.

Donaldson and Lawrie dropped early shots to trail Edberg by four, while a double bogey on the sixth left Dutchman Lafeber six shots off the lead.
