Tiger Woods briefly burst into a share of the lead with three birdies in his first seven holes in the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill today.

He has since been overtaken by Anthony Kim, who lies on five-under-par, two shots clear of a group of five players, including Woods.

Back on a course where he has won six times, Woods was returning to PGA Tour action 11 days after pulling out of the Cadillac Championship in Miami with what turned out to be only a mild ankle strain.

After starting on the inward half he two-putted the 12th and 16th, both par fives, and made a 32-foot putt on the 15th to be alongside fellow American Sean O'Hair.
