Ireland's Padraig Harrington began the Transitions Championship in Florida today with a dazzling course-record 10-under-par 61, the lowest round of his career.

Down to 90th in the world rankings, Harrington held an early five-stroke clubhouse lead on his return to action after failing to qualify for last week's World Championship event.

The three-time Major winner started with back-to-back birdies at Innisbrook, finished with three in a row and had five more in between.

American Kenny Perry, now 51, was Harrington's closest challenger out on the course. With three to play the former Ryder Cup player stood six under.
