Jose Maria Olazabal today found himself one of the beneficiaries of a decision to increase the field for this week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship from 126 to 129.

Europe’s Ryder Cup captain was already heading there for a press conference tomorrow to talk about September’s match, but now will be staying on to compete against Tiger Woods and Europe’s world top four Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy and Martin Kaymer.
