Tiger Woods is back in the world’s top 50 after finishing third at the Australian Open – but only just.

Woods, who had fallen from top of the rankings just over a year ago to 58th, is now up to 50th, a mere 0.03pts ahead of Retief Goosen.

Spain’s Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano improves from 126th to 58th thanks to his play-off victory at the Barclays Singapore Open today.
