Sergio Garcia was locked in a battle with fellow Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez after failing to make the start he was hoping for in the final round of the Andalucia Masters at Valderrama today.

Last week’s runaway winner, two ahead overnight, followed five opening pars with a three-putt bogey to slip back to five under par.

Jimenez caught him at six under with birdies at the second and third, but then bogeyed the fifth.

They were two ahead of Scot Ricie Ramsay, who three-putted the third before making birdie with a five-foot putt on the long next.
