Garcia on course for big win
Birdies at the fourth and fifth holes kept Sergio Garcia on course for a runaway victory in his home Castello Masters today.
Seeking his first victory for nearly three years, Garcia was 21 under par, with his nearest challenger, fellow Spaniard Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, 14 under after an eagle and three birdies in the first seven holes.
Scot Richie Ramsay was a stroke further back, but Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee and England’s Ross McGowan – second and third overnight – had slipped back to eighth and 17th respectively.
