Europe leads US at mid-way point in Solheim Cup

More than 25,000 people have lined the fairways and filled the stands at the stunning Killeen Castle venue today, to watch the 2011 Solheim Cup.

More than 25,000 people have lined the fairways and filled the stands at the stunning Killeen Castle venue today, to watch the 2011 Solheim Cup.

Europe currently lead the USA 7-5 with the four-balls at the mid-way point.

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny along with the Minister for Sports, Arts and Tourism Leo Varadkar are due to attend the final day's play tomorrow with the singles format teeing off at 10am.

It is also rumoured that American golf star John Daly, who is visiting Ireland, will be along to support the American team.

A dry start is forecast for tomorrow and tickets are still on sale for Sunday and can be purchased online at www.solheimcup.com or at the entrance gate. Tickets cost €50 with free admission for all accompanied children under 18.

Killeen Castle in Dunsany is located just off exit six on the M3, 15 minutes from the Blanchardstown exit on the M50.
