Overnight leader Peter Lawrie had an unspectacular start to his second round at the Czech Open as he bogeyed two of the first four holes.

Lawrie, who carded a first round of 66 at the Prosper Golf Resort in Celadna, dropped off the pace during the early stages of the second round. Damien McGrane holds a share of the lead.

McGrane also struggled at the start of the day, dropping shots on the second and third holes but unlike Lawrie he was able to birdie the first and fifth to stay on even par for the first part of his round.

Italy’s Lorenzo Gagli, starting at the 10th, started well with back-to-back birdies at the 13th and 14th to move up into while Paul McGinley is the third Irishman in contention and finished his second round with a one-under 71 leaving him tied for third with a clutch of players including Mikael Lundberg and Gary Bond.
