Spanish pair into Munich play-off

Sergio Garcia birdied the final hole to force a play-off with fellow Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal at the BMW International Open in Munich today.

Garcia had been two ahead after a magical run of three successive birdies from the sixth and eagle putts of 25 and 40 feet at the ninth and 11th, but then came four bogeys in five holes.

Larrazabal had also dropped a shot on the 16th, parred the last two and then saw Garcia make the green in two at the 568-yard 18th and two-putt for a matching 68 and 16-under total of 272.

Joint third two strokes behind were Scotland’s Scott Jamieson after a best-of-the-day 64, England’s overnight leader Mark Foster, South Africans Retief Goosen and George Coetzee and Dutchman Joost Luiten.
