Defending champion Pablo Martin and last year’s runner-up Charl Schwartzel both made strong starts to day three of the Alfred Dunhill Championship to close the gap on leader Anthony Michael.

Spaniard Martin birdied the first hole to move onto six under par overall, while South African Schwartzel was on the same score after three holes and one stroke further back overall as the early starters tried to gain ground on the leaderboard in Malelane.
