Monty releases McIlroy early
Ireland’s Rory McIlroy will be second in tomorrow’s singles as compatriots Padraig Harrington and Graeme McDowell close out the day’s proceedings in the final two pairings.
McIlroy faces up to Stewart Cink while Harrington and McDowell go into battle with Zach Johnson and Hunter Mahan respectively.
European captain Colin Montgomerie has chosen world number-three Lee Westwood to lead the charge in the morning’s opening contest against American veteran Steve Stricker.
Elsewhere, US captain Corey Pavin as decided to leave world number-one Tiger Woods till the 8th game following his battering in today’s foursomes and he will square up to Italian Francesco Molinari.
