US take early Ryder Cup lead
Europe today claimed the first point in the rain-delayed Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor, more than 25 hours after the contest started, but the United States secured a one-point lead after the opening fourballs.
World number three Lee Westwood and USPGA champion Martin Kaymer led from the front to beat Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson 3&2 in the opening match.
