Takuya Taniguchi moved into a one-stroke lead ahead of the final round of the Kansai Open after carding a three-under-par 67 today.

The 30-year-old, searching for his first Japan Golf Tour win since the 2008 Sun Chlorella Classic, shot four birdies against one bogey at Tanabe Country Club.

Taniguchi is 10 under while a shot behind is Shigeru Nonaka, who returned to the clubhouse with a two-under 68.

Kazuhiko Hosokawa is three shots off the pace in third after enjoying a blistering round that included an eagle and six birdies for a course-record 62.
