Tiger Woods has been paired with in-form Englishman Lee Westwood for next week's US Open at Pebble Beach.

The pair will also play with two-time tournament winner Ernie Els from South Africa.

Woods, who will be chasing his fourth US Open victory, has struggled with his form of late, failing to make the cut at the Quail Hollow Championship in April before finishing in a tie for 19th at last week's Memorial tournament in Ohio.

He did, though, manage a joint fourth-place finish at the Masters at Augusta on his comeback to golf after his self-imposed absence following revelations about his private life.

Westwood, who is chasing his first Major title, has been in fine form of late.

The English golfer, who has claimed a top-three finish in the last three majors, holds the joint lead at the halfway stage of the St Jude Classic in Memphis.

Ireland's Padraig Harrington will line up alongside four-time Major winner Phil Mickelson and YE Yang.

Ian Poulter will play with Yuta Ikeda and Henrik Stenson, while Sergio Garcia, Steve Stricker and Paul Casey will also tee off together.
