Kuchar triumphs at Turning Stone
Matt Kuchar finally claimed the title at the Turning Stone Resort Championship by beating Vaughn Taylor over six play-off holes.
The American pair were level at 17 under after 72 holes and were forced off by bad light after two play-off holes last night.
The key moment came in wet and windy conditions on the 439-yard 13th where Taylor found the water from his tee shot to double bogey the hole, meaning Kuchar’s par was more than enough to secure him the crown.
The 31-year-old told Sky Sports: “To battle so hard was pretty special,” Kuchar said. “There’s nothing better than coming out on top after a week of golf.
“It feels great. To be able to come out on top is really special.
“It’s hard to believe it has been since 2002. The game of golf can just reach out and beat you up.”
