Ireland's Paul McGinley is tied for the lead at the KLM Open in The Netherlands after carding a six-under-par opening round of 64 today.

The Dubliner shares the lead with Scotland's Gary Orr and New Zealand's Wade Ormsby.

Elsewhere, defending champion Darren Clarke is just one shot back in a tie for fourth place with Peter Lawrie and several other competitors.

Shane Lowry also put in a good showing to end the day on four under par, while Damien McGrane and Gareth Maybin were both three under after 18 and 17 holes respectively.
